Beyond Tradition: Deciding Which Wedding Customs Belong on Your Timeline
Ceremonial traditions like the first dance and bouquet toss provide a familiar cadence to a reception. Yet, true luxury lies in curation—and no two celebrations should feel identical.
While a bouquet toss can add a lively spark to the evening, we always advise our clients to evaluate a few subtle details before including it:
Guest Demographics: A dynamic toss requires momentum. To avoid putting guests on the spot or dampening the room's energy, we recommend a minimum of five to eight enthusiastic single guests.
Age Inclusivity: If children are attending, young guests will inevitably join the crowd—and often catch the toss. Consider whether you prefer a classic adult moment or an all-ages highlight.
Above all, your reception should reflect your personal taste. If a tradition doesn't align with your vision, refine the timeline and leave it out.
